Process
Originally I wanted to write my report on the Samurai Warriors. However, my humanities teacher, Mr. Sitko, advised that there be too many reports on the Samurai Warrior and suggested I do my report on Pachacuti.
Originally I begin my research from reading the section Pachacuti from the textbook. I then began to download different articles found on the web. Each article, as listed in my bibliography, Dealt with a different part of Pachacuti’s life, my mother helped me organized the articles according to the dates of Pachacuti’s life. Pachacuti was not a very popular choice so the web pages were hard to find.
I did not know who Pachacuti was before Mr. Sitko assigned this to me, and now I learned a section of history before he teaches it to the class. I just treated this as a normal project that I would do. What I like about this project was that could make a webpage rather than a board.
Regarding conflict, the people were fighting over land. The law was who ever lost the war had to be killed. The surrounding towns spoke different languages and had different rules to follow. Conflict was great because no one wanted to work together if you work together you are considered weak because you gave up your land and beliefs. Pachacuti said to the leader of the villages, Join me or we will fight and take it your land anyways.
Regarding compromise, they made roads to make everything connect together. He made the villagers learn and speak a language called Quecha. By doing this the newly conquered people were united. In order to increase communication Pachacuti invented a system similar to the pony express except the pony. Runners would run 140 miles a day. When he built palaces it would make the people prey to the gods. When Pachacuti moved everybody from Cuzco to another place he moved the rivers so that it would irrigate the crops.
I’m glad my project is finished. This is the first opportunity to update my website and it gave me a change to try new things and import pictures from different sources.
